I have been a lover of log homes and nature since I was seven and can remember visiting my great-aunt Loraine in her Cabin every summer and during the Thanksgiving Holiday. She lived in the Mountains of Tennessee and I would mark out the days on my calendar till I got to travel from Alabama to visit her in her log home. She was a woman of true joy, faith, and love. The nearest neighbor was around 3 miles away and outside she owned several cats, a dog, a goat and a turkey (although I’m quite sure we ate that turkey one Thanksgiving). One week every summer she would keep me and my twin sister, Jessica, and take us to vacation bible school to make sure seeds of truth were planted in our hearts. She cooked the best breakfast and we would be awakened by the smell of bacon every morning during our stay. I have my best childhood memories with her in that little log cabin.
